The Imuto shines in terms of 4 port connection, digital readout, nice tapered styling and fancy box (though the mini manual is garbage). It also came with a soft velvety storage sleeve and cable. Both nice.
The EL Pro on the other hand is pretty plain to look at, and comes off a bit dated. It only has 4 flashing dashes for power level. It comes with a cable but no protective sleeve. It also has one less USB-A port, but not that it matters that much today.
Setting aside the aesthetics, what's performance like?
I charged both bricks to MAX and started up a dead 16" MBP i7 each time. I then went about my normal routine while the laptop charged. Here's the results. on how well it performed
EL Pro - 53% laptop charge
Imuto - 41% laptop charge
A 12% gain in charge-ability for my power hungry laptop seems like a very large margin! Even with the nicer styling of the Imuto, it's going back and I'm sticking with the EL Pro. After all, it excelled at exactly what I needed it for -- power. Everything else is just a luxury.
